SAILING: Big turn-out for latest Mersey race series

LIVERPOOL Yacht Club / Tranmere Sailing Club had a big turn-out on the Mersey for their latest late autumn series races, writes Andrew Stratton.
Neil Thomas had Mighty Max II at the head of affairs in IRC Class One. Eazi Tiger (Adam Kyffin and Jon Oliver) was second with third place on corrected times going to Bada Bing (Andrew Farrall and Andrew Napper).
Warwick Telfer at the helm of Clairevouyant headed Class Two from Skukusa (Stuart Lofthouse) and Magic Moments (Paul Hampson).
In Venture Class One first place was claimed by Quilla (Jim Myerscough) ahead of Legless (Dave Harrison) and Mistoffolees (Andy Freeney).
Kahu (David Gray) won from two starters in Class Two.
Hoylake Sailing Club staged dinghy racing off Meols with the offshore breeze presenting ideal conditions.
Gavin Melling won twice in the Enterprise Gavnik.
The third race also went to an Enterprise sailed by Chris Lamb.
