Sailing: Honours shared on high tides
LIVERPOOL Yacht Club / Tranmere Sailing Club had a good turnout for their late autumn series races on the River Mersey at the weekend when they were able to take advantage of the high tides.
Bada Bing (Andrew Farrell and Andrew Napper) and Mighty Max II (Neil Thomas) shared the honours in Class One whilst the Class Two winners were Quilla (John Myerscough) and Clairevouyant (Warwick Telfer).
In the Venture Class, She Fever owned by Jim Baxendale won twice and Reveillier (Brenton Williams) once.
At Hoylake in the last Opera events of the season, your correspondent Andrew Stratton completed a three-timer in Silvana with the other success going to Steve Stratton in Fidelio.
West Kirby also had their last tidal races of the season and continued their Handicap Dinghy winter series on the Marine Lake.
