REFEREE George Leicester reached an amazing personal milestone as he took charge of his 3,500th game, in the Houlihan's Birkenhead Sunday League Division Three tie between Armchair Alliance and Victoria Lodge.

Congratulations to George, but it was Victoria Lodge's goal machine Liam Rose who stole the headlines with another four-goal haul as his side remained top of the table with a 4-0 win.

Allport Athletic beat Wirral Spartans 3-0 to stay level on points at the top, with goals from Jacques Bonfrer (2) and Mike Williams.

Old Parkonians (Liam Furber 2, Ben Kierman) dropped points in a 3-3 draw with Beechwood Falcons (Luke Wynne 2, Connor McDonald) but remain in the promotion battle and New Ferry Rangers (Peter Brown 2, Sam Horner) got an important three points in a 3-2 victory over Shawcross (Ian Duckworth, Peter Reynolds).

Wade Sword got the goal that put Beechwood Youth in to the Final of the Cheshire Youth Cup; his 70th minute finish was enough to seal a 1-0 win over West Kirby Wasps.

After a goal-less 120 minutes between Queens Park and Rock Ferry Social in the Tony Houlihan’s Memorial Challenge Cup, it was Social that held their nerve to win the penalty shoot-out 5-4.

Shore Villa got the better of Upton Villa in the Veronica Conway Cup, as Adam Lea hit two and Ryan Thompson one in a 3-1 win; Jamie Rule getting Upton’s consolation and in the Cleveland Cup, Sean Cookson scored twice for Vauxhall Youth, however, Daniel Dixon (2), Connor Egan and Jamie Easton registered for Glenavon Youth as they went through 4-2. 

Shatesbury 'B' went out of the Wirral Amateur Cup at the Semi-Final stage; despite a Ben Verdin goal, they went down 3-1 to Irby Club.

In the Premier Division, Dock remain in the title battle thanks to a Mark Head double in a 2-0 result against Brow. 

Lloyd Ithell and Ben Smith hit doubles for Argyll as they edged out Laird's Sports Club 4-3; Ally Major (2) and Paul Leay scoring for Laird. 

Heygarth and Bidston Hotel failed to break the deadlock in their game, as the points were shared.

Division One saw second-placed Churchwood close the gap at the top with a 2-0 win at leaders Lions FC thanks to goals from Danny Povall and John Duddy.

Lee Griffiths got a double as Shaftesbury 'A' beat Saddle Club (Whitehead, Henderson) 4-2 to move 3rd and Kings Arms (Matthew Easterbrook, Leigh Thompson) stay in touch after a 2-1 success over Prenton Dell (Aaron West).

Goals from Matty Boyd and Max Blood helped Tower FC to a 2-1 result at AFC Arrowe Park (Tom Lang).

Ryan Pleavin and Paul Lindfield both hit a brace and Kalumba Mwandwe got one as Ashville Old Boys edged out FC Ridger (Ian McCann, Ben Williams, Graham Williams, Danny Caulter) 5-4, in division two. 

Merebrook (Jake Garner, Kieran Hughes) beat Millcroft (Billy Richards) 2-1 to continue their promotion push, Ryan Critchlow scored two as PSV Athletic won 2-1 at AFC Houlihans (Tom Neal) and Mike Bristow and Andy Cass scored for FC Ellies as they won 2-1 against Farmers Arms (Alex Broadbent).
