SAILING: Disappointment as Mersey races are postponed because of weather

THERE was disappointment for Liverpool Yacht Club/Tranmere Sailing Club crews on Sunday as the second races in the Brass Monkey Series had to be postponed.

Strong winds and a poor forecast left the officials with little alternative.

It is hoped to find a new date later in the year. Meanwhile the next River Mersey racing is set for February 10 with a 9am start.
