1:04pm Monday 21st January 2013 in Sport By Andrew Stratton
IT is hardly sailing weather just now but plans are well in hand for the new season.
Winter activities continue for some enthusiasts but most local clubs will begin competition in late April.
West Kirby Sailing Club will stage their ever popular Wilson Team Racing Trophy Meeting on the Marine Lake over three days starting on Friday May 3.
The West Kirby Regatta is set for late June and the club will also host one of the Menai Strait Regattas at Beaumaris in August.
Hoylake Sailing Club will open the local Regatta programme on the May Bank Holiday weekend and Dee will stage the final Regatta on June 23 on the Dee Estuary.
Main events for 2013 are as follows:
May 3-5: West Kirby SC Wilson Trophy.
May 25: Hoylake SC Regatta.
June 1: Wallasey YC Regatta at New Brighton.
June 2: West Cheshire SC Regatta at New Brighton.
June 8: Royal Mersey YC Regatta at Rock Ferry.
June 9: Liverpool YC/Tranmere SC Regatta River Mersey.
June 22: West Kirby SC Regatta Dee Estuary.
June 23: Dee SC Regatta Dee Estuary.
