Wirral Globe: Operation Yob 3

Wirral Globe: Wirral Globe 4

The Globe is declaring war on the “yob culture” that is destroying Birkenhead and we need your help to help end their reign of terror.

The town’s MP Frank Field says it is time the system favoured decent people instead of “yobs”, something we at the Globe hope to help achieve.

Both Mr Field and Wirral council leader Cllr Phil Davies are urging those responsible for tackling anti-social behaviour to “up their game significantly” after a series of violent incidents reported in our paper.

“This is my top priority and will continue to be so until we are on top of this,” said Mr Field.

“We want to return Birkenhead to what it was and reverse it from becoming Beirut because that’s what we have got in places.”

In a bid to crackdown on Birkenhead’s crisis, the Globe is launching an online form to allow victims of such terror to hold the authorities to account.

Mr Field said: “If people can tell us what’s going on and how long it’s been going on and how many times they have told the police, then we have got the evidence to say that we have got to do things differently with our four budgets because it is just not working.

“We are running a system that works for the yobs, we want a system that works for decent people.”

The influential MP added: “It’s so distressing the stories that are coming in. They are decent people who pay their taxes and the yob culture is winning. We have got to make sure the yob culture is beaten as soon as possible.”
