IS IT bird? Is it a plane? No its intrepid News Shopper reporter Emma Coutts-Wood trying her hand at flying.
She was at the Woodville Halls in Gravesend on a flying visit to watch rehearsals for Peter Pan.
The cast took her under their wing and she was offered the chance to take a tour of the theatre from a different angle.
Emma was strapped into the machine which will be used to give the illusion the actress playing the title role, Alison Coot, is actually flying.
She was carefully hoisted about 20 feet above the set and floated gracefully around the stage.
During the show, Alison will be in full costume and expected to recite her lines perfectly, unlike Emma who had a fixed grin on her face and was reticent to speak except to say: Can I get down now please?
Peter Pan runs at the Woodville Halls, Windmill Street, until January 6.
Tickets are £10 for adults, £7 concessions and £5 children. For the 11am show, everyone pays £5. Call 01474 337459/60.
