A YOUTH group in Beckenham has filled 35 shoe boxes with Christmas goodies for children in eastern Europe.
Each child from Junos and Eagles, a Uniform Youth Group for seven to 11-year-olds, filled a shoe box with gifts, such as toothpaste, soft toys, soap and pencils. The boxes will be shipped to children in Romania and Albania who have suffered as a result of war, natural disaster, poverty, illness or neglect.
The kids in the group, which meets at St John's Church, in Eden Park, Beckenham, also sent Christmas cards and photos of themselves along with the presents.
