A WIRRAL primary school is creating an internet storm after children took part in a flashmob performing Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars hit Uptown Funk in the playground.

Youngsters at Riverside Primary School in Seacombe took part in the event this lunchtime, organised by teacher Kate Weatherall and Year 6 pupil Olivia Lamb, aged 11.

Around 50 Key Stage Two pupils took part in the flashmob, which was uploaded to the school’s YouTube channel this afternoon.

Ms Weatherall, who runs the school’s dance club, said: “”I have been doing the dance club here on and off for the last three years because we like to have a bit of a routine when there are discos and stuff.

“We like the song and Olivia and I put a routine together – we’ve been practicing it every Tuesday lunchtime.

“It’s just a bit of publicity for the school and we had a lot of fun doing it and it warms you up.”

The footage shows Ms Weatherall and her pupils dancing along to the popular pop song and already has more than 300 views.

The description alongside the four minute video reads: "If Carlsberg made primary schools, they'd be like Riverside Primary School! The KS2 Dance Club flashmob the playground. There ain't no playtime like a Riverside playtime!"
