A FLAGSHIP Wirral nursery school is celebrating after scoring a hat-trick of achievements.

The nursery provision at Ganneys Meadow Early Years Centre in Woodchurch has been rated "Outstanding" in all areas for the third straight inspection by OFSTED.

It was a great achievement for Ganneys Meadow, which was Wirral’s pilot integrated service and a designated early excellence centre.

The nursery school is now part of a Sure Start children’s centre and is led and managed by headteacher Caroline Roberts and the board of governors.

Chairman of governors Alison Cretney said: "We are delighted to receive this accolade again.

"The school is the heart of the centre and is not only a wonderful resource for families and the wider community, but for all early years practitioners across Wirral."

The inspection took place in December and Ofsted published their report shortly after Christmas.

In their comments Ofsted inspectors said: "Children thrive in this welcoming nursery school because they are known and valued as individuals. They are comfortable and secure and ready to enjoy early learning.

"The partnership between parents and the school is strong. Parents feel very well informed about how their children are doing.

"They say that the nursery also helps them to help their children learn at home.

"Children’s behaviour is exemplary."

They also praised "Excellent teaching by a highly skilled team of professionals is enabling children to make outstanding progress from their starting points, especially in their personal, social and emotional development”
