Thanks to the success of our 100 Apprenticeships in 100 Days campaign earlier in the year, Wirral Met College and Wirral Globe have teamed up again to call on local employers to support the 100 Apprenticeships Challenge once again.

Apprenticeships are an alternative way of gaining skills and qualifications whilst developing your experience in full time employment - and earning money at the same time! The 100 Apprenticeships Challenge aims to place 100 people onto new apprenticeship programmes and the campaign is open to any employer, whether they are a large multi-national enterprise or a small or medium sized company.

If you are an employer and interested in apprenticeships, Wirral Met College, supported by the National Apprenticeship Service, will provide you with all the free guidance and advice you need. Even if you already employ apprentices, you can still get involved in the 100 Apprenticeships Challenge and seek new opportunities within your business.

Did you know? Anyone above the age of 16 can sign up and become an apprentice, they are not only available for young people. Even if you are already employed, talk to your employer and discuss the options to sign up to an apprenticeship programme, so that you can develop your skills and improve your prospects.

What does an apprenticeship involve? An apprenticeships programme is a package of nationally recognised qualifications covering practical job related learning, theory and understanding, and English and maths. These qualifications are all gained whilst working full time and earning a salary.

There are different levels of apprenticeships to provide you with a range of different qualifications. Wirral Met College offers over 100 different apprenticeship frameworks; from business administration, accounting, cleaning, hairdressing, IT to construction trades, property services, retail management and science.
