Police warning to Rovers' fans ahead of home game against Doncaster Police warning to Rovers' fans ahead of home game against Doncaster

FANS planning to see Tranmere Rovers in action against Doncaster Rovers at Prenton Park on Tuesday are being warned of roadworks near outside the ground that may cause them delays.

Currently, there are temporary traffic lights and roadworks on Prenton Road East in Tranmere at the Borough Road junction.

This junction is immediately East of the ground, and Mersyside Police say any traffic converging on that junction in the lead-up to kick-off time of 7.45pm is likely to suffer extended delays.

They will be hard to avoid, the closer you get to the ground.

The delays are reported to be mainly along the Borough Road junction where motorists have to pass through the roadworks to get to the ground.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "Given that the roadworks are just beyond Prenton Park, I would advise motorists to allow themselves extra time to get to the ground and to park their vehicles.

"Due to the popularity of the fixture I would also advise fans thinking of attending the game to get their tickets early to avoid disappointment."

Pity this warning was issued before last weeks game against Yeovil then maybe the queue of traffic down Borough Road from 2.30 onwards might have been avoided.
