CCTV image of man wanted in connection with assault
DETECTIVES have released CCTV footage of a man wanted in connection with a racially-aggravated assault in Wallasey.
Police say a man was verbally abused and punched in the face during the incident in Sandridge Road, Wallasey, on August 9, at around 8.30pm.
Officers from Sigma, the force's dedicated hate crime investigation unit, are appealing to anyone with any information about the incident to come forward.
Detective Cons Polly O'Brien said: "People who carry out hate crimes should be left in no doubt that their behaviour will not be tolerated and action will be taken to ensure they are arrested and prosecuted.
"We are investigating this incident and are keen to speak to anyone with any information that could help our enquiries. In particular, we would like to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV, or anyone who recognises him, in case he has information that is important to the investigation."
