A NEW state-of-the-art children’s play area is set to be added to New Brighton’s revamp.
The £1.8m family entertainment centre, which will open early next year, will be the latest investment to arrive at the resort’s Marine Point.
Bubbles’ World of Play, operated by Glopplay Ltd, will occupy 21,000 sq ft in the Lido Building and will create more than 35 jobs.
Centred around "innovative play" and thought to be the largest indoor play area in the country, Bubbles will be five tiers high and invite youngsters to "explore" different parts of the world.
And Graham Robinson, managing director of Soft Brick Company Ltd, the installer of the World of Play Frame, said the project could set the tone for future play areas.
He said: "The Soft Brick company will be building not only the largest play area in the UK but one we are confident will be described as 'The Best Play Area in the World'.
"This will be a benchmark site for the next decade. It's great news for us but also a real feather in the cap for Merseyside and the children of New Brighton."
The centre will feature a Wild-West-themed cannon zone, a space rocket climb from the floor to the roof and a role play area.
The plans also include toddler facilities while parents will have the chance to learn computing skills on-site.
Daniel Hynd, project director with developer Neptune, said: "We are delighted to bring this key development to Marine Point.
"The face of New Brighton is changing, and Bubbles’ World of Play will add an extra attraction to the estate, which the operators are hoping will draw more than 200,000 visits from across the North West."

Artist impression a bit strange as does note match the Lido building what so ever.
Shame about the never swam in swimming pool. Lets hope that can use that.
After all that investment perhaps the council could splash out on some light bulbs for the main part of the prom in New Brighton and try to keep the place clean and tidy to make the most of its rebirth instead of being dirty and most of it still looking neglected. Spend millions and millions and leave it
Strange people our Councillors.

mindful of the developing interest in, 'your' resort. Welcome relief you may think? For those romantically attached to the past; and the (indigenous) long term unemployed, Will there be provision for 'all' to enjoy the renewed interest in our previously failed resort?
The reason I bring this to your attention is that I have watched and suffered the consequences of society’s discernment, this being self-fulfilling and prophetic to many of the residents of an area that have fallen victim to the ever-changing needs of modernity. The erosion of the norms and values that we once observed, and the desperate measures that have been created by an alien culture within. Liverpool has seen changes and on the face of it, (good luck) with the successful service and provision for those interested in the celebration of its history.
There are many historic 'figures' (ordinary people), that have not enjoyed anything of the newly found interest and will continue to endure the same standard of life as they did prior to the developing interest of 'outsiders' and those privileged enough to have something that they can offer in respect of the re-development and/or their entrepreneurial ability. There is little chance of any realistic inclusion or empathy for the long term suffering, both physically and mentally. There has to be some recognition of the effect that has been created due to long term inactivity and hopelessness, some as a result of the failure of ‘consecutive’ administrations and an out of date school curriculum, with its failure to educate for the needs of the future and of the ‘individual’ needs of students. Rehabilitation or benevolence is not the preferred way for profit seeking investors; there must be promotion and inclusivity for all.
Alternatively sit back enjoy the migration of success and the successful!
