Deadline looms for Wirral secondary school applications
WIRRAL Council reminding parents submitting applications for their child’s admission into secondary schools next autumn have until the end of the month to do so.
They have to apply for place by Wednesday, October 31, to give their child the best chance of getting into one of their preferred schools.
Parents can give up to three preferences when making their application, and rank their preferred schools to show which would be their first, second, third preference.
The local authority says preference should not be given for a grammar school unless parents have been advised that their child has met the grammar standard.
Applications can be made on on-line on the school admissions website.
Parents who cannot apply on-line can complete a paper application form. The deadline for postal applications is 5pm on October 31, and midnight for on-line applications.
For more information and to make an on-line application visit www.wirral.gov.uk/schooladmissions
Offers will be sent to parents/carers on Friday, March 1, 2013 by e-mail for online applicants, or by post for paper form applicants.
