SUPER-FAST broadband is finally coming to a Hampshire village.
Residents in Twyford will benefit from a nation-wide £2.5billion investment by BT which will connect them to a high-speed fibre broadband network already enjoyed in much of Winchester.
Other Hampshire communities to benefit include Rownhams, Hayling Island and Petersfield.
In Hampshire it is estimated that 80 per cent of households and business premises will have access to faster broadband by 2015 through the commercial market, but the council’s Hampshire Broadband Programme will intervene in rural areas where further investment is needed.
BT said a total of 33,000 premises in seven locations are set for the fibre upgrade.
