Bestselling author to visit library
2:46pm Tuesday 2nd October 2012 in News
Stuart Maconie
A BESTSELLING author will pay a visit to a Wirral library as part of Bookfest 2012.
Stuart Maconie, writer of ‘Cider with Roadies’ and ‘Pies and Prejudice’, will drop in to Bromborough Civic Centre at 7pm on Wednesday, October 10.
The BBC Radio 6 presenter will speak about his writing and his career to date.
Stuart said: “I'm very much looking forward to visiting the Wirral again as part of the 2012 Book Fest. It's a part of the world I love and I always have a great time there and I'll be alongside writers and people I like such as Sophie Hannah and Kevin Sampson. Hope to see you at the Bromborough Civic Centre."
Cllr Chris Meaden, cabinet member for culture, tourism and leisure said: “Stuart Maconie has become something of a national treasure thanks to his travel writing, which unearths hidden depths to a country that it is often tempting to imagine we already know everything about.
“Bookfest 2012 will see a host of authors and poets visiting our libraries, but this is one show in particular that I would call unmissable.”
Tickets for the performance cost £5 and are available from Bromborough, Bebington Central, Wallasey Central, Birkenhead and West Kirby libraries, as well as Linghams Booksellers in Heswall.
