WIRRAL country star Charlie Landsborough will be among those handing out the honours at the inaugural Wirral Golden Globe Awards.
The Golden Globes are a chance to focus on all the positive achievements of those acroos the the borough who never receive the recognition they deserve.
Birkenhead-born Charlie told the Globe: “To present something to people of Wirral to honour their achievement is a fantastic and positive thing to do.”
The 70-year-old continued: “There’s a lot of negative things about Wirral at the moment, but it’s always nice to highlight the positives.
“The Globe has been really good to me over the years, so it’s good to give something back by supporting these awards.”
Now is the time to identify and celebrate the champions our local community. With categories such as Foster Carer Of The Year, Neighbour Of The Year, Parent Of The Year, Local Sportsperson Of The Year, Young hero Of the year, Contribution To Community, Voluntary Organisation Of The year and Adult Learner Of The Year, we hope that you will recognise someone who meets the criteria and who you feel is worthy of this accolade.
If so, now’s the time to nominate them and tell us why you feel they should be eligible for a Golden Globe award.
The award is sponsored by Tota Fitness Health, Wirral Community NHS Trust, Birkenhead Market, Wirral Metropolitan College, Wirral Partnership Homes and Wirral Biz.
Entries can be posted in a Golden Globe letterboxes situated outside the security room in Birkenhead Market and Grange and Pyramids Shopping Centre.
All successful nominations will be contacted by telephone and along with a guest will be invited to a Free special Gala Dinner at the Floral Pavilion, new Brighton on November 29, where both runners up and winners will be presented with a certificate/award by the sponsor of their category.
Courtesy of Total Fitness, Prenton every person who sends in a nomination will receive a free family pass for up to two adults and two children. If you do not wish to receive this pass, please untick the box on the entry form provided.
