Regardless, it is an accident and they do happen. Just hope that the rider is ok & thoughts with him & family.
One thing I will highlight though is the age of the car driver - I wonder if this will prove to be a questionable factor. I know that there has been a lot of discussion about elderly drivers on other forums, so watch this space!

A biker can be travelling within the speed limits, with headlights on, positioned for maximum visibility, and still have their lives put at risk by
careless drivers.
Think Bike!
Can't comment on the above accident until the facts are known, but I wish the rider a full and speedy recovery.

Since when has 65 been to old to drive ?? i travel along woodchurch road daily on my way to work, and have on several occasions seen motorbikes weaving in and out of traffic....... and i am not elderly so not defending the lady..
Good driving requires judgement, experience, awareness...careful doesn't always mean safe!

I hope you are keeping well?
I'm not wanting to pick a fight here or anything, but just to make you aware, the article has clearly been edited since yogz66's comment, as I too saw the mistake yesterday.
Fair play to the Globe for the correction, but perhaps they should at least acknowledge that the article has been amended, and is therefore not in it's original form.
There may be other issues we have all crossed swords about, but trying to points score here, when you no doubt realised the reality of the situation, is a poor effort on your part, in my opinion anyway.
Anyway, back to the story, I wish everyone involved a speedy recovery, after what sounds like a really nasty accident.

if this is the case, this is the only post I have read and therefore was unaware of any amendment.

in this incident, I would just like to mention that the car driver is in her mid fifties not 67 as was documented, so any comments about elderly drivers should be revoked! The car driver concerned is also injured and extremely distressed and upset by the incident, this has been a very distressing incident, for all parties. I hope that everyone concerned makes a full recovery.
