42-year-old Mr Craddock sustained serious head injuries after the incident outside a shop in Rock Ferry. He was allegedly struck following a row with a group of youths.

22-year-old Hughes, of Beech Court, Tranmere, was further remanded on bail by Judge Brian Lewis who said, "This is a serious case involving devastating consequences for the victim."
