Play suspended at women's Open golf championship at Hoylake

Strong winds have meant play has been suspended at the Ricoh British Women's Open Championship at Hoylake.

An announcement from organisers says the Rules Committee has declared scores returned this morning null and void.

Play at the Royal Liverpool course will not restart until 3pm at the earliest.

The competitors began their round in extremely adverse weather conditions and conditions subsequently worsened.

A further announcement will be made at 2pm.
