THE Christmas panto season started early on the children’s ward at Arrowe Park Hospital thanks to Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Young children watched a production of Dick Whittington at the Wirral Hospital as part of a nationwide summer tour.

The pantomime was presented by Starlight Children’s Foundation which provides entertainment in hospitals and hospices across the UK.

The panto’s four actors danced, dazzled and sang for the young patients, their families and hospital staff.

Claire Farr, who played the part of Alice Fitzwarren, said: “We hope that the panto gave the children at Arrowe Park the chance to boo and hiss at the evil King Rat and cheer Dick Whittington along. We hope it brought them some fun.”

Sue Adams, Play Leader, at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, added: “I’d like to thank the cast for coming along - they were really popular with the children, parents and staff. The panto certainly helped to bring plenty of smiles onto the ward.”
