THE inquest into the death of a Wirral teenager who was killed in a car crash was opened yesterday.
James Parry, from Saughall Massie, died after the Vauxhall Corsa in which he was a passenger was in collision with a bus on Tuesday night.
The hearing, which took place at Wallasey Town Hall, was told how the car had been driving along Tollemache Road, Claughton when it collided with an out-of-service Arriva bus.
Coroner’s officer Arthur Flower said: “They were travelling along Tollemache Road from Oxton towards Wallasey and approached the junction with Upton Road.
“At the same time an Arriva double decker bus entered the junction, resulting in the bus colliding with the near-side of the Corsa.”

His two friends who were also in the car were taken to hospital and one is said to still be a in a serious condition at Fazakerley Hospital.
Wirral coroner Christopher Johnson adjourned the inquest until a date to be fixed.
