DETECTIVES have launched a witness appeal after a Wirral man was assaulted in the early hours of Sunday.

The 29-year-old victim was attacked by two other men in Rowson Street, New Brighton at around 3.10am.

Police say he suffered a broken nose and facial injuries in the unprovoked attack.

It is believed the men walked from Waterloo Road to Victoria Road before the incident.

One of them was wearing light trousers and a dark top while the other, who was shorter, was wearing dark trousers, a dark top and white shoes.

DCI Dave McCaughrean said: "This was an unprovoked attack and we are determined to bring those responsible to justice.

"We ask that anyone with any information in connection with this incident call us, no matter how small that piece of information may seem, so we can take action against the offenders."

There is still a big problem of Anti Social behavior in New Brighton and they could spoil the whole regeneration and all the hard work. Hope they catch them and lock them up. Mindless idiots. Time to grow up and move on.
