CLATTERBRIDGE Cancer Charity has been awarded £6,000 from The People’s Postcode Trust to buy wigs for patients.
The cash was raised by The People’s Postcode Trust and distributed to good causes across the country.
Doreen McLoughlin, a patient at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is among those who have benefited from the generous donation.
She said: “Losing my hair was a hard and emotional journey. Having a quality wig makes me feel like me again – it helped me to get back my life, to socialise and feel ‘normal’ again.
"Thank you to The People’s Postcode Trust for supporting The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.”
Clare Hutchinson, the organisation's charities and trust advisor said; “People’s Postcode Lottery takes great pride in being able to support this project and help provide wigs for Clatterbridge’s patients.”
The charity needs to raise at least £50,000 every year to ensure it can continue to provide this vital service free-of-charge.
