A 22-year-old Wirral man has been charged with supplying the stimulant drug mephedrone, known as m-cat or meow meow.

Michael Bristow, of Broadway, Greasby was arrested on suspicion of Class B drug offences after a warrant was carried out under the Misuse of Drugs Act at his home on April 13.

He was bailed pending further enquiries and was charged yesterday with possession of mephedrone with intent to supply.

He will appear at Wirral Magistrates' Court on August 15.

Mephedrone was classed as an illegal drug in April of 2010.
