WIRRAL pupils put their own stamp on London 2012 as they held a special Olympics Day this week.
Greenleas Primary school, Wallasey, staged the event on Tuesday in a bid to bring the Olympic excitement to the classroom.
As part of the day, each class picked a country to represent and took part in six different sporting games including javelin, shotput and long jump.
Local Olympic Torchbearer Jack Blakemore, from Wallasey, also dropped in to show the youngsters the iconic torch up close.
The event culminated with a closing ceremony where the winners of gold, silver and bronze medals were announced.
Physical Education co-ordinator and class teacher Laura Dean said: "We have been planning the day since last year and it has created a real buzz around the school.
"The children have responded to it brilliantly and have loved the whole thing."
