AN inspirational woman from Wallasey will be among the guests at one of the country's biggest fundraising events tomorrow.

Twenty-year-old Amy Hughes will attend the Caudwell Children 'Diamond Butterfly Ball', which will be held at Battersea Evolution in Battersea Park.

Amy, who has a rare and debilitating condition called Cockayne Syndrome, will join stars and Royalty, including Rod Stewart CBE, Peter Andre, Sir Bruce Forsyth and actor Anthony Head to name a few.

Caudwell Children has supported Amy with vital equipment.

In 2009 the charity also took Amy and her family on their "Destination Dreams" trip to Florida, which is specifically designed to help families facing the trauma of their child's life-threatening condition.

Amy's brother Ben, 12, will also feature in the charity's film on the evening, which will be shown to the guests as part of the event's auction.

Charity chief executive, Trudi Beswick, said: "We are very excited about this year's event and it is with great pleasure we welcome some of the charity beneficiaries to share the occasion and highlight the work of Caudwell Children.

"We are incredibly proud of the Butterfly Ball, which has now become a much anticipated fixture in London and an evening that attracts world famous celebrities.

"We hope Amy and her family have an exceptional evening and it is an experience they will cherish in the future."

Caudwell Children was founded in 2000 by entrepreneur and philanthropist, John Caudwell.

The evening will be hosted by entertainer Jonathan Wilkes and the celebrity auctioneer will be Jeffery Archer.
