LOCAL ELECTIONS 2012: Liberal Democrats hold on to Eastham

THE first result is in, showing the Liberal Democrats have retained their seat in Eastham.

Lib Dem Cllr Phil Gilchrist won with 2,151 votes.

Laurence Jones - UKIP: 219.

Kevin Sharkey - Conservative: 315 votes.

Green

Jackie Smith - Green Party: 55.

Mike Thompson - Labour: 1,539.

Liberal Democrat majority: 612.

Voter turnout: 39.2%
