A WIRRAL woman was found dead by paramedics at her home, an inquest heard.
Jennifer Abbey, of Kingsway, Wallasey, was pronounced dead on Sunday afternoon at around 3.45pm.
The opening of the inquest into her death heard that on arrival, ambulance crew were were taken to a room where they found 29-year-old Miss Abbey lying on the couch.
Coroner’s officer Donald Johnston said she was obviously dead.
He said: “Upon examining the deceased, they saw certain details that gave them cause for concern the death might be suspicious.
“On arrival of the police, the address was treated as a crime scene and the force’s medical examiner also attended.”
The results of a post-mortem examination were withheld pending toxicology and histology reports.
Mr Johnston said a man had been arrested in connection with the death.
The 44-year-old, who has not been named, was released on police bail until June 7 pending further enquiries.
A police spokesman said the death is still being treated as "unexplained."
