Drivers cut from cars after tunnel link road smash
Gorsey Lane was closed both ways closed due to an accident between Poulton Road and Wallasey Tunnel Link Road.
Traffic exiting the Wallasey Tunnel could not get onto Gorsey Lane and vice versa.
The crash happened at around 11.20am but the road was not reopened until 2.15pm while accident investigations were carried out.
Two cars were involved in the collision, a blue Jaguar XJ8 and grey VW Golf.
The male drivers of both had to be cut from their vehicles by firefighters.
The victims' injuries were described by police as not being life-threatening but they were taken by ambulance to hospital for checks.
