Birkenhead Town Hall is once again the venue for this year’s Wirral history and heritage fair.

Many of the peninsula's local and family history societies, archaeology groups and civic societies will be represented; there will also be books and postcards for sale as well as activities for children.

Peter France, chairman of Wirral History and Heritage Association which organises the fair with support from Wirral Council, said: “All stallholders are volunteers and the fair is an excellent showcase for the people of Wirral to see how our history and heritage is protected, promoted, preserved, and here presented.

“This event grows in popularity year on year and remains a must-see for all who are interested in Wirral's rich and varied past.”

Wirral’s resident Viking expert Professor Stephen Harding will officially open the event, which takes place on Saturday, March 3, from 10am until 4pm.

Admission is free.
