TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of assault after a man was found unconscious in Argyle Street, Birkenhead, this morning.
Police were called to Argyle Street shortly after 7am by a passer-by.
They found a man, believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, lying on the floor outside a flat.
An ambulance was called and the man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital, having regained consciousness.
Following examination, he was found to have only superficial injuries but has been kept in for observation.
During the course of local enquiries, a 36-year-old man and a 41-year-old man in a nearby flat were arrested on suspicion of assault.
They are currently in custody awaiting questioning.
