YOUNGSTERS descended upon Manningtree's sands to discover who is king of the castle as part of the town's popular Big Beach Bash.
Crowds turned out in force for the annual event in South Street and on the town's man-made beach on Saturday.
A double decker bus loaded with activities was parked in the town centre and youngsters played with metal detectors and built sandcastles.
A vintage market was also set up for the first time.
