A POPULAR line dancing club for teenagers and young adults with physical and learning disabilities has re-opened in Hoylake.

Numbers have grown steadily since the Hot Wheels club began its new Thursday night dance sessions in November after a two-year break.

Around 25 dance enthusiasts from all over Wirral, including around ten wheelchair users, have been attending the sessions at Hoylake Community Centre on Hoyle Road.

The club is run by original Hot Wheels founder Julie Davies, along with her friend Linda Coleman, both from Moreton.

It receives additional support from Hoylake based care provider T L Care, which provides care and support to around 10 members of the club and lays on free refreshments for the dancers, their parents and carers.

TL Care's owners, Hoylake couple Dave and Melanie Russell, were so impressed by the Hot Wheels dancers they invited them to be the star guests at a social evening for the local community at Hoylake’s Melrose Hall last Friday.

Hoylake resident Tom Rooney, 22, said: "I go dancing about four nights a week and this club is awesome!.

"The music is legendary and it's much easier for me to get to, because it's right on my doorstep.”

Annie Morton, aged 15, is similarly impressed "This is the third time I've been. It's fantastic.

"I've been doing the conga and dancing to Michael Jackson. I like it because I’ve made new friends."
