SHOPLIFTER IS JAILED: District Judge Michael Abelson at Wirral Magistrates Court told a 24-year-old man he had little alternative other than to send him to custody.
Craig Louis McCullough, of Sunfield Road, Wallasey, admitted theft of clothing worth £49 at Asda in Wallasey and was said to be in breach of two suspended prison terms.
The judge ordered the suspended terms totalling 18 weeks be served and added a further eight weeks for the latest offence.

CURFEW FOR CANNABIS POSSESSION: A young man found with cannabis was made the subject of a curfew order by District Judge Michael Abselson at Wirral Magistrates Court.
Dean Knight, 20, of Naylor Road, Birkenhead, admitted unlawful possession of a controlled drug and also breaching his bail.
He must remain indoors between 7pm and 7am for the next two months.

GBH ACCUSED SENT FOR TRIAL: Martin John Treacey, 35, of Ash Grove, Wallasey, was sent for Crown Court trial by District Judge Michael Abelson at Wirral Magistrates Court.
He faces a charge of affray at Liscard Village in November last year and also inflicting grievous bodily harm on the same date.
He was bailed to appear at the higher court on January 4.

INTENT TO SUPPLY CHARGE: District Judge Michael Abelson at Wirral Magistrates Court declined to deal summarily with a Wallasey man facing a drugs allegation.
Kyle James Robnson,21, of Merton Road, was remanded on bail until December 20 for committal proceedings.
He is charged with possession of 63 grammes of cannabis with intent to supply at his home address in May.

PAIR CHARGED WITH ASSAULT: Two men appeared before Wirral Magistrates after a disturbance in Conway Street, Birkenhead, in August.
David Hylands, 30, of Parkview Close, Birkenhead, and Allan Joseph Sutton, 27, of Carr Brdge Road, Woodchurch, are charged with bodily harm and common assault.
Summary trial was declined and they were remanded on bail until January 10 for committal proceedings.
