THE Kingsway Tunnel has re-opened following a collision earlier this morning.
A contraflow system that had been in place in place in the Liverpool-bound tube has been removed following the incident, which occured at around 3am.
Four people were taken to hospital following the incident, which involved a Rover and BMW vehicle.
A 19-year-old woman from Ellesmere Port, who was in the back of the Rover, is being treated for serious head injuries.
The 69-year-old driver of the BMW, from Pensby, remains in hospital as a precaution.
The 45-year-old driver of the Rover, who is from the Chester area, has been released from hospital along with a 20-year-old woman from Cheshire.
