YOUNG people from Charing Cross Methodist Centre in Birkenhead have been helping to make a positive difference to their community.
The centre's youth club has bought a new Renault Master mini-bus, adapted to accommodate all abilities, which has already been put to good use with a residential trip to York, weekend away in Derbyshire, and 'playday' in Birkenhead Park.
The young people raised a lot of the money themselves by holding a fun day, and were aided by a grant from the Youth Capital Fund and generous donations and support from Aiming High For Disabled Children, The Rank Foundation, Universal Signs, True Colours Trust, Chris Jones Trust and a generous discount from Renault itself.
And keeping all this good work going is a new band that plays at the youth club on Thursday nights, and is due to play once a month at the youth club, starting Saturday September 25 (admission 7pm, under 19s only).
Eternal Flamez are Daniel Edwards, drums, Craig Atherton, keyboard, Rose Mitchell and Amanda Smith, vocals and guitarist Christopher Lennon, guitar.
They recently performed at each launch of Wirral's four new youth hubs where Daniel's brother Phil joined them on stage to perform a rap dedicated to their brother Chris, who has autism.
The band also played for the church's 50th anniversary.

People in that locality give them all the support you can.
Local Council take note give them maximum support, they deserve it.
Local MPs, make sure you bring it to the attention of Parliament, not as a feather in your cap but to illustrate what people power can achieve with the right encouragement.
