LES Parry has signed a new one-year contract to remain manager of Tranmere Rovers.

The physiotherapist, who took over as manager in October last year, helped keep the team in League One finishing in 19th place at the end of the season.

Chairman Peter Johnson said: "Les has transferred his undoubted skills from physiotherapy into management extremely well. He has taken to the role with the level of dedication and commitment that has been typical of his work during his career at the club.

"His aim when he took over as manager was to keep the club in League One and he was successful. I am delighted to extend his contract and look forward to seeing the changes he will make to the playing squad ahead of the new season."

And Les is thrilled to be able carry on with his role at the club. He said: "I'm really pleased the chairman and board of directors have shown their faith in me by asking me to continue as manager. "I'd like to thank the fans for their support since I took over especially on the final day of the season at Stockport."
