WALLASEY ABC fighter Lee Langan scored a points victory over Workington's Wayne Stuart in a hard-fought duel at Parr Hall, Warrington.
The lightwelter showed his determination in the first round, catching Stuart with a fine left to the body which left him doubled up in pain. After that, Stuart elected to stand off, resulting in three rounds of excellent boxing which the master of ceremonies described as the best he had seen from such young fighters.
Langan's next contest is due to take place at the Sefton Show at the end of February.
