THE replica of the world's first mechanically-propelled submarine is back at Woodside Ferry Terminal after a facelift.
Resurgam returned from the Maritime and Engineering College, North West – formerly the Laird Foundation – in Birkenhead where students helped refurbish the ten ton replica.
Merseytravel director Neil Scales said: "She's looking as good as new and I know she'll prove to be a popular addition to the U-Boat Story attraction.
"We've also repositioned Resurgam so she is now displayed more prominently for visitors."
The original Resurgam was built in Birkenhead in 1879 by Cochran and Co.
Designed by a Manchester clergyman, the Rev George William Garrett, the vessel foundered off Rhyl while being towed to Portsmouth to be shown to the Royal Navy.
Rediscovered on the seabed in 1995, Resurgam is now a protected wreck.
