THE winner of a Wirral Globe-backed search for the next big name in dance music will be revealed next weekend.
Since January, budding singers aged 16 and upwards from across the borough have been auditioning for a place in the ROMP Comp final.
With X-Factor style auditions in front of a panel of industry professionals, they have been competing for the chance to get their name on an international music stage.
The auditions are now over and the finalists will fight for the prize next Saturday, November 28, at the Floral Pavilion Theatre Theatre in New Brighton.
The finalists are pictured with competiton organiser, Michelle Billington, who told the Globe: "I can’t believe it's nearly all over. It's been an amazing 10 months of auditions and we've had a lot of great people through the doors.
"The quality of those who have auditioned and are now in the final is so high that I feel its been the nearest thing to the X-Factor.
"Hopefully, it will be the start of something big."
The winner will become a celebrity for a day, getting time in a professional recording studio to record his or her own personalised dance track.
They will also walk away with £1000 in cash, a full make-over, photoshoot and a day at Seven Waves Radio in Leasowe.
The judging panel on Saturday will include singer Kelly Llorenna, whose many hits include Heart of Gold, Tell It to My Heart and True Love Never Dies and Ian Redman, from Liverpool dance band Ultrabeat.
Also casting their votes will be Wirral-based former X-Factor finalist and member of boy band Eaton Road, James Edwards, and Wallasey-based fashion designer Neil Cooper.
There will also be performances from singers Kelly Llorenna, Nicci Belle, Nazene Rezonance, Jennifer Bolton, singer and DJ Fran Cosgrave, former Big Brother contestant and DJ Mickey Dalton and Marc Kenny from Northern All Stars. James Edwards will also perform his new dance track.
The competition starts at 2pm and tickets are £8.
All profits go to Getwise Community Interest Company, which helps young people with a range of disabilities to build up their confidence and self esteem through the development of acting skills which encourage them to play a more active role within the local community.
