TRANMERE Rovers have failed to beat Leyton Orient in League One action this afternoon.
Les Parry had hoped his squad would return from the Matchroom Stadium with points in the bag after they beat Geraint Williams' side 1-0 in the FA Cup first round replay at the same venue on Tuesday.
But it was not to be.
Scott McGleish scored the host's two winning goals in the 24th and 70th minutes, while midfielder Charlie Barnett put one in the net for Rovers 29 minutes into the game, in front of 4,620 spectators.
It was the 20th time the two clubs had met, with Rovers winning 11 of the games.
This afternoon's result means Rovers have now lost 13, won three and drawn one of their league games since the season started. They retain 23rd place on the table with 10 points.
Their next League One game is at Prenton Park this Tuesday, November 24, against Southend (kick-off 7.45pm).
Les Parry - who took over as caretaker manager following John Barnes' sacking in July - has hinted this week that he may bid for the manager's job if Rovers' results improve.
