THE proprietor of a Wirral scrapyard is offering a reward following a blaze at the business premises.
Five fire crews were called to Auto Salvage UK's premises in Neptune Street, Birkenhead at around 3.45am on Friday.
It is thought 50 vehicles were damaged, and 15 suffered heat damage during the incident.
It is believed the fire, which caused an estimated £30,000 of damage, was started by arsonists.
Hoardings and a workshop were also damaged. No one was injured.
Proprietor Joseph Drake is offering a reward of £5,000 for anyone with information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for the incident.
He told the Globe: "I'm absolutely stunned by what's happened. The business has only been open for two months and I spent an absolute fortune setting things up.
"I just want to find out who did this and why."
If you have any information, call Mr Drake on 07952535499.
