Wirral's Poppy Appeal launched by Mayor

WIRRAL's Poppy Appeal has been launched by the Mayor of Wirral Cllr Andrew Hodson today.

The Mayor was sold the borough's first official poppy during an event at Wallasey Town Hall attended by members of Wallasey’s British Legion.

This year the Royal British Legion campaign, which is largely funded by donations and fundraising efforts of supporters, will raise money for troops wounded in Afghanistan and the families of those killed in the conflict.
