THE FOUR people killed in a horrific crash on the A540 Chester High Road have been named locally as John Aston, 20, Eddie Smith, 19, Michaela Favager, 19, and Gillian Fowle, 43. All are from the Neston area.
All four were killed instantly when their Vauxhall Tigra Coupe smashed into a tree in Neston in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene, at the junction of the A540 and The Runnell, at around 2am.
An investigation is underway to establish what happened.
A Cheshire police spokesman told the Globe: "We received a 999 call at approximately 2.10am, that reported that a car was involved in a collision with a tree.
"Three bodies were found in the car. A fourth had been thrown from the vehicle on impact."
The carriageway was closed for 14 hours.
Cheshire Police said 40mph Chester High Road was classed as a “red route” due to a high number of accidents. Witnesses can call Cheshire Police on 0845 458 0000.
