TWO jetskiers were rescued from a sandbank in Thurstaston on Sunday afternoon after their vehicles ran aground.
The two, believed to be in their 20s, were rescued by a crew from Hoylake Lifeboat at around 4.30pm, following a call from a member of the public.
They were part of a group of friends who also watched their speedboat sink after launching it from a beach in North Wales.
The jetskis were recovered later that night, but the speedboat has not been recvovered.
A spokesman for the Coastguard Service told the Globe: "We had a report at 4.37pm that there were two people high and dry.
"Incidents like this are standard, so our advice is to check the tide times.
"It's a common mistake for people to forget that the tide will go out and it's not just jetskiers who find themselves in difficulty.
"If you are unsure about tide times, call the Coastguard on 931 3341".
