PAUL McLaren has returned to Tranmere Rovers on a two year contract today.
The 32-year-old midfielder played for Tranmere in 2006-07 and 2007-08.
In his second season at the Club he was named Players' Player of the Season and made more goal assists than any other player in the division.
He made 92 appearances for Tranmere and scored five times before joining Bradford City.
Earlier in his career he played for Luton Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham United.
Manager John Barnes said: "I'm thrilled Paul has agreed to come back to the club.
"He is a very creative midfielder who is excellent in possession and is a great passer.
"He is also a threat from set pieces and a great professional.
"He is a very experienced, quality player and I’m glad he is a part of the Club’s future."
Paul added: "It's great to be back – in hindsight it was a mistake to leave.
"I'm looking forward to working with John Barnes and Jason McAteer and can’t wait to get playing again."
Paul will be available for Tranmere’s home pre-season friendlies against Preston North End this Saturday, July 18, Liverpool XI on Friday, July 24 and Shrewsbury Town on Saturday, August 1.
