NHS Wirral is looking for a further non-executive director to help to oversee the running of the NHS across Wirral and is to hold an information session for people to find out more.

Non-executive directors are people drawn from the local community and are selected with a view to ensuring a balance of skills and experience.

NHS Wirral commissions healthcare for all Wirral residents and provides primary and community healthcare services for the population of Wirral. We are looking for successful professionals with experience of working in leading organisations.

Frances Street, chairman of NHS Wirral, said: “We are looking for local people to come forward and apply for this important additional post.

“The expertise this type of appointment brings to the board table is of great benefit to health services people receive in Wirral.

“We want a person who has senior level experience in the private, public or voluntary sectors with high levels of energy and enthusiasm.”

The person will need a strong personal commitment to the NHS and ideally live in Wirral.

In addition, they should be able to demonstrate a range of competencies required to contribute effectively at board level including strategic thinking, team working, leadership and excellent communication skills.

The appointed person will have a proven record of achievement in a challenging, competitive and at the same time collaborative environment with an ability to forge strong working relationships.

The successful candidate will receive £7,765 per year for working two and a half days per month.
