PLANNED strike action on Merseyrail this weekend has been called off.
Members of The Rail, Maritime and Transport Union (RMT) were due to walk out for 24 hours on Saturday in an ongoing dispute over driver-only trains.
But this has been called off to allow further discussions between Merseyrail and the RMT to take place.
Strike action planned for Tuesday, September 3 and Thursday September 5 is also off.
A normal service will run on these dates.
